Let us start at the very beginning

It all began in 1962 as a babe of 6 yrs old, to cut a long story short I was taken out one eve to a social event with relatives and the compere at the time asked if anyone would get up to sing a song well as a cheeky young lad at the time I put my hand up and he came over with the mike and I sang a song which was relevant to the day a beatles song possibly She Loves You, or whatever either way out of possible kindness I would like to think they threw money onto the stage after my performance and it was gathered up and turned out to be something like ?2.50p which was a lot of money in 1962, anyway as my relatives had gone to play bingo on this evening it turned out that I was the winner of this night. Next day my auntie took me to the bank to put my winnings in etc. so I suppose you could say that was my first ever paid gig.

So there you have it and from this experience i must have got the bug so to speak and continued on into the profession so to speak.
